MCRM – Member Certified Risk Manager

  • You are: applying risk frameworks, policies and tools in real organisations. 

  • Typical profile: 3+ years risk-related experience. 

  • Education routes (any one): 

    • OCRM Diploma in Financial Risk Management for Banks, or

    • Two or more OCRM Certificates, or

    • Recognised external qualification plus relevant experience.

  • Post-nominals: MCRM (OCRM®)

FCRM – Fellow Certified Risk Manager

Reserved for senior leaders and recognised experts.

  • You are: leading risk agendas, heading teams or functions, and contributing to the profession. 

  • Typical profile: 8+ years’ risk experience, including leadership roles. 

  • Typically holds: 

    • MCRM in good standing, and

    • OCRM Diploma plus multiple Certificates (or equivalent profile), and

    • Evidence of contribution (projects, publications, mentoring, speaking, etc.).

  • Post-nominals: FCRM (OCRM®)

You don’t have to start at ACRM if you’re already experienced. Choose the level that best matches your qualifications, experience, and professional profile.

ACRM – Associate Certified Risk Manager

Best for:

  • Students and recent graduates

  • Early-career professionals

  • People transitioning into risk roles

You’re a good fit for ACRM if:

  • You have at least one OCRM Certificate (or the OCRM Diploma).

  • You’re at the start of your risk career – typically 0–2 years’ experience in areas like risk, audit, compliance, finance, IT, or operations.

  • You’re committed to the OCRM Code of Ethics and want to build a solid professional foundation.

What you gain:

  • The professional title ACRM (OCRM®)

  • A recognised starting point on the OCRM membership ladder

 


MCRM – Member Certified Risk Manager

Best for:

  • Practising risk managers and specialists

  • Professionals who apply risk frameworks and tools in their organisation

You’re a good fit for MCRM if:

  • You have at least 3 years of risk-related experience, for example in:

    • Enterprise risk

    • Operational risk

    • Credit or market risk

    • Compliance, audit, or governance

  • And you meet one of these qualification routes:

    • You hold the OCRM Diploma in Financial Risk Management for Banks, or

    • You have completed two or more OCRM Certificates, or

    • You have a recognised external qualification in a related field plus relevant experience.

  • You can provide a CV and basic evidence of your role and responsibilities (e.g. job description, employer confirmation).

  • You agree to follow the OCRM Code of Ethics and maintain ongoing CPD.
