Accreditation & Recognition

Professional Standards, External Accreditation & Endorsement

The Organisation of Certified Risk Managers Limited operates OCRM® as an independent professional body delivering structured qualifications and professional designations in enterprise risk management, governance and related risk disciplines.

This page outlines OCRM®’s external accreditation, programme endorsement arrangements and the scope of recognition applicable to its qualifications, designations and professional development activity.

OCRM® is not a university, degree-awarding body or statutory regulator.

CPD Standards Office Accreditation

OCRM® holds CPD provider accreditation from the CPD Standards Office.

This accreditation indicates that OCRM®’s CPD processes and programme delivery frameworks have been assessed against CPD Standards Office requirements for structured professional development.

CPD Standards Office accreditation relates to:

  • CPD programme structure

  • Learning design standards

  • Documentation and quality processes

  • Continuing professional development methodology

CPD Standards Office accreditation does not constitute government regulation, statutory recognition, academic degree-awarding authority, regulated qualification status or professional licensing status.

It does not, by itself, make an OCRM® qualification a regulated qualification or academic award.

Further information regarding CPD Standards Office accreditation may be obtained directly from the CPD Standards Office.

Institute of Financial Accountants Programme Endorsement

Relevant OCRM® programmes are endorsed by the Institute of Financial Accountants in accordance with a formal endorsement arrangement.

Endorsement applies only to programmes included within the agreed endorsement scope.

Programme endorsement indicates that relevant OCRM® course content has been reviewed for professional relevance within the scope agreed between OCRM® and the Institute of Financial Accountants.

Where applicable under the endorsement agreement, learners who successfully complete endorsed OCRM® programmes may receive a Certificate of Achievement issued in association with the Institute of Financial Accountants, in accordance with the terms and scope of the endorsement agreement.

Important Clarification Regarding IFA Endorsement

Institute of Financial Accountants endorsement:

  • Does not constitute Institute of Financial Accountants membership

  • Does not confer statutory or regulatory licensing status

  • Does not create automatic eligibility for Institute of Financial Accountants membership unless separately specified by the Institute of Financial Accountants

  • Does not convert OCRM® qualifications into Institute of Financial Accountants qualifications

  • Applies only within the stated programme endorsement scope

Recognition, acceptance or use of OCRM® qualifications for employment, professional or regulatory purposes remains subject to employer policy, professional body requirements and applicable jurisdictional regulations.

Individuals seeking Institute of Financial Accountants membership, exemptions or regulatory recognition should consult the Institute of Financial Accountants directly.

Professional Body Status of OCRM®

OCRM® operates as an independent professional body within its own Governance & Professional Standards Framework.

OCRM®:

  • Develops and awards its own professional qualifications

  • Confers professional designations — PCRM, MCRM and FCRM — subject to eligibility review, ethics, CPD and governance standards

  • Maintains CPD obligations and ethical expectations for members

  • Operates a credential verification registry for eligible credentials and active designation status, where applicable

  • Maintains policies covering assessment, moderation, CPD, complaints, appeals and professional conduct

OCRM® qualifications and designations represent professional recognition within the OCRM® membership and professional standards framework.

Framework Alignment

OCRM® programmes are designed with reference to recognised enterprise risk management and governance principles, including:

  • ISO 31000 risk management principles

  • COSO Enterprise Risk Management concepts

Reference to these frameworks indicates that they inform programme design at a conceptual level.

OCRM® is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or formally accredited by ISO or COSO.

Use of framework references does not imply ownership of those frameworks or authority to certify organisations against them.

International Applicability

OCRM® qualifications are delivered through digitally accessible pathways for learners across jurisdictions and sectors.

Acceptance and recognition of professional qualifications may vary by employer, industry, professional body or jurisdiction.

OCRM® does not represent that its qualifications or designations confer statutory licensing authority in any jurisdiction.

Individuals and organisations are encouraged to confirm recognition requirements within their specific regulatory, employment or professional context.

Use of Names & Marks

“CPD Standards Office” and “Institute of Financial Accountants” are referenced in accordance with applicable accreditation, endorsement and trademark requirements.

All trademarks, names, logos and intellectual property remain the property of their respective owners.

OCRM® does not imply ownership of, or authority over, the names or marks of external organisations.

External names and marks must not be used in a way that implies broader accreditation, endorsement, membership, approval or regulatory status than has been formally granted.

Commitment to Transparency

OCRM® is committed to accurate and transparent representation of its professional standing and external relationships.

Where accreditation, endorsement or recognition applies, it is described within the stated scope and without implication of broader authority than formally established.

Prospective learners, members, employers and organisational partners are encouraged to review the OCRM® Governance & Professional Standards Framework for further detail.
